John Budden is the Quality Manager at Protective Packaging Ltd and joined the company 4 years ago. This followed 10 years in Technical roles within the Food Industry, followed by a further 10 years spent developing and managing Quality systems in Thermoformed plastics (Food applications).
Protective Packaging is certificated to IS09001:2008 and have been certified to ISO since 1990. Our system has been developed so that Quality is “built in” to all company procedures ensuring that strict guidelines and protocols are applied to all our systems to produce a product and service of excellent quality.
Quality Investment (People). With the continued success of the company and the increase in work load this inevitably produces, the Quality team has recently taken on further resource with the appointment of Andrew Harding to increase the auditing capacity of the department supporting John and Ian Bridgeman.
Quality Investment (Instrumentation): In order for the company to undertake raw material monitoring and to develop new and innovative laminates Protective Packaging has recently invested in a new Force and torque testing instrument.
The Mecmesin Multitest 2.5 – xt (With emperor force software).This is a Force testing system, designed with a touch screen interface for tensile testing and compression measurements.
The MultiTest 2.5-xt is a Mecmesin’s mid-range programmable, yet self-contained force tensile testing system rated to 2.5kN. Using a touch screen interface, it is ideal where repeatable, accurate routine tests are performed and requires minimum set-up time and training.
The system uses Mecmesin’s high performance Intelligent Loadcells for excellent resolution and outstanding accuracy.
