The annual Grand National takes place tomorrow and as always, here at Protective Packaging Limited, we have done our annual sweepstake. All employees have paid £2 to pick out a horse’s name from a foil laminate pouch, to be in with a chance of winning some money. However, this year, we are doing things a bit differently. Instead of all the money going into the prize pot, we are donating £50 of the prize money to Macmillan Cancer Support.

We are also having a raffle in April, where all employees can pay £5 (or more if they wish!) for their name to be put into a foil bag. On the day of the raffle, a name will be pulled out at random and the winner will get an extra paid day’s holiday to take this year. This time, all the money will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support. Our aim is to raise £250 for the charity from both activities.

In the past we have raised money for charities such as The British Heart Foundation and we often “Wear it Pink” on the selected day to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign.

All employees pull together for these types of events, to show our support to charities which do an amazing job at supporting people through illness and saving lives. I am proud to be involved and look forward to The Grand National tomorrow. Come on Wayward Prince!!!
