I joined Protective Packaging Limited in June this year, taking over the role of IT Manager from Andy Thompson. It’s been an immense learning curve getting to grips with the diverse systems that Protective Packaging use and everyday I learn something new. One aspect that never ceases to amaze me is the diversity of products that the company manufacture.

When I first started I just accepted that the company I worked for made protective bags. However, as people got to know me and I began to learn about the company’s activities, I realised that it’s not just a foil bag. From Tiltwatch sensors, shock and humidity detectors to desiccant, it all felt a little overwhelming.

Now, five months later, I’ve been made to feel very welcome by everyone and I feel a real part of the team. This year has been an exciting time as we upgrade and replace IT equipment, helping us to respond faster and better to our clients’ needs. Everyday offers new challenges and the New Year promises more of the same.

I can honestly say that working at Protective Packaging, a company that is geared to servicing the needs of the customer as quickly and efficiently as possible, is anything but dull.
