This is because we appreciate everyone’s contribution to our success and that every person in the business plays their part in ensuring we deliver quality.
Although we continue to grow as a global market leader and attract new talent to further our ambitions, we are proud of the fact that we retain many of our employees (and their knowledge and expertise) for decades. In fact, just in the past month, two members of our team celebrated working with us for 20 years. This experience of our employees combined with our constant innovation mean we can always find a solution to any packaging need.
We believe a happy, motivated, supported, highly trained and dedicated team delivers you the high standard of service you expect from us. We therefore strive to make sure our employees know we appreciate their efforts and have a number of initiatives to support this.
Currently, we are planning our quarterly Company lunch for all employees. As this Quarter end falls on Halloween, our lunch will have a spooky theme – no costumes as we have strict health and safety guidelines on what can be worn while manufacturing our products – but lots of treats (and maybe a few tricks) over the lunch.
Each month, Quarter and annually we reward those employees who go the extra mile in their role. We also encourage all our employees for their ideas on how they think we can do things better, with a monthly reward for the best suggestion. This means we are constantly improving our systems and processes to make them more efficient, effective and productive.
With so much experience within our business, our Buddy System assists with cross-skilling and knowledge-sharing across the company. Each Quarter every employee is set a quality, learning and training objective, and if they successfully achieve their quality objectives, train a colleague in a new skill and learn or develop something new, they will attract a bonus. The success of this system which is now in its’ third year of implementation, means quality is the focus of all we do, and that we have a multi-skilled, highly trained and constantly developing workforce.
The well-being of our employees is important to us and we have a number of schemes to support this including, with winter on the way, offering a free flu vaccination to all staff.
We are also coming to that time of year when we can all look forward to our annual Christmas party and have just selected our meal choices for the night. Featuring a canapé reception, aerial acrobatics, delicious meal followed by coffee & chocolates, high tempo dance routines, disco, midnight breakfast and much more, it promises to be a fantastic evening where everyone in the business can celebrate their contribution to another successful year with Protective Packaging.
