I joined Protective Packaging at the beginning of November as the new night shift engineer. Having come from the food industry, merging into the packaging industry was a fresh new challenge which I can say I have thoroughly enjoyed and embraced. I had some exposure to Packaging but not to the scale which is done here.

I had no idea how much work went into producing our products which I have used in the past numerous times, such as our Drum Liners, FIBC Liner and even Box Liners.

As part of the engineering department here at Protective Packaging, there is always work to be done to improve the machines to ensure the end product is exactly what the customer requires. It can be something as simple as tightening a bolt to full overhauls of the machine components. You need the ability to think outside the box, or in our case, what our products are protecting within the box so the machines work to 100% effectiveness.

I look forward to gaining even more product knowledge and the skills required to be a successful Packaging Engineer here at Protective Packaging through the new year of 2017.
