Having only started with PPL back in February this year I won’t lie, as someone who gets most of his shopping from an online, American retailer, my knowledge of the packaging industry mainly consisted of oversized cardboard boxes, bubble-wrap and endless amounts of brown packaging paper.
Luckily for me, I did my homework before my interview and managed to secure a role on the Customer Support team here at Protective Packaging.
My earlier blog in April was a quick Q&A with our Marketing Manager which gave a quick overview of my thoughts on the role during my very early days, but I felt that now I have successfully achieved my 3-month milestone, I wanted to give you an update on how far I have come.
Still quite new to the role, company and industry, I am still learning about the wonderful world of protective packaging particularly why it’s used and the importance of using it! It was clear very early on that Protective Packaging Ltd pride themselves on their customer support department.
As many of you know, all of our products are bespoke and made to order. In order for myself and team to give you tailored advice and recommendations in line with your requirements, it is extremely important that we have the technical knowledge behind us to help you. Which is why Protective Packaging provides us all with full training on our products and laminates right down to making a bag ourselves. Considering this, it is no surprise that we have customer relationships dating back to the full 30 years we have traded and we continue to receive a healthy amount of recommendations and new enquiries per month looking for advice.
Now that I have successfully completed my 3-month, extensive training plan, I am now confident with speaking to customers daily, processing their orders and providing quotes on our full range of products. The time has flown by and I’m enjoying being part of the team.
